Industry and Projects
This page is a showcase of my industrial experiences as a mechanical engineering graduate, featuring some of the projects I have worked on throughout my career.
Industry
Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but you get the point. I’ve seen it all, from the sweaty machinists to the fancy suits of the business execs. It’s like I’m a real-life version of “Undercover Boss,” except without the drama and fake mustaches. So, come along with me as I reminisce about my industrial training adventures, and maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two along the way.

Sri Lanka Railway's Workshop
I was able to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in very basic and uncommon mechanical engineering operations. In addition to the technical and practical knowledge gained in the field of mechanical engineering, I could learn and experience so many repair and maintenance techniques that would help me throughout my career.

Yugadanavi 300 MW Combined Power Plant
During the period of internship, I had the opportunity to participate in an extremely rare power plant major inspection (MI) where one of the gas turbines, HRSGs, and the steam turbine were overhauled. During the MI, I was able to cooperate with so many highly experienced local and foreign specialists as more technical and skilled workforce had been recruited for the job.

Colombo Dockyard PLC
I participated in an engineering training program, immersing myself in the intricacies of metal fabrication and joining operations. It was a short but intense period of learning and growth, where I was exposed to the various methods and techniques used in the shipbuilding industry.
Simulations

I specialize in conducting eQUEST building energy simulations according to ASHRAE and LEED guidelines endorsed by the US Department of Energy (DOE). Additionally, I possess knowledge and expertise in conducting indoor lighting and lighting energy simulations using DIALux evo.
I have extensive experience working with renowned simulation software packages such as ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS Granta, SOLIDWORKS, and AutoCAD, which I gained during my undergraduate studies.
