This took 11 minutes to write, 10 minutes to type on Monday.
Now it's 23:41 on Friday.
Just 10 Seconds and Boom!
I’m not a professional photographer, but taking photos wherever I go, whatever I find interesting has been part of my day-to-day for more than a decade now.
It’s always my smartphone unless I decide to take my camera, which rarely happens.
When I see something interesting, even before my phone comes out of my pocket, I know what frame it is, how it’d handle the white balance, and how exactly it would look on the screen.
Whether I’m gonna post it monochrome, edited, or raw, my brain decides within a fraction of a second.
My phone camera loads within a second.
It’s just a matter of aligning with the grid lines and, in the worst case, doing some manual exposure.
Only one, I don’t take a bunch of em.
That’s 10 seconds.
Whether it’s RAW or More
- Sometimes, I decide to edit the photo even before I take it, sometimes later.
- If I decide to edit, I’d spend 1-2 minutes editing a photo on either Lightroom or Snapseed.
- That of course on my way back or at night when I’m done with everything.
Time to Upload
- I spend less than 10 seconds capturing, 1-2 minutes editing, and max of 2 minutes uploading as a story or post.
- Deciding on some badass music and stickers would take an additional 1-2 minutes. Instagram is making it more complex for Gen Z.
- Okay, that’s less than 2-4 minutes.
Digital Wellbeing
- I recently noticed that I’ve spent around 1 hour per day on Instagram.
- I spend 10-15 minutes checking your stories (first few only) and 5-6 posts.
- The rest I spend swiping up reels, starting from the 4746734+ reels you people send every day.
- I limited my Insta screen time to 30 mins. Done!
Spend less time - or - don't upload
